M 51 - faint background

The inverted Luminance image reveals faint streams of matter in the outer regions of both galaxies. Additionally, numerous background galaxies are visible, with the faintest having an apparent magnitude of about 23. The Luminance image is based on the co-addition of all subframes, regardless of the filter used.
